I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics Universitas Gadjah Mada, and I serve as the Vice Dean of Research, Community Services, Cooperation, and Alumni at the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada. I’m an elected member of the Indonesian Young Academy of Sciences (ALMI) from 2020. 

I earned my PhD in economics from the University of Pittsburgh. I then continued as a postdoctoral research fellow and now as an invited researcher at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab Southeast Asia. My research interests are experimental economics, economics of education, and the economics of tobacco control. My current projects investigate the effects of tobacco farming on the livelihoods of smallholder farmers, the effects of information intervention on the incidence of child marriage, and the effects of home-based intervention on the incidence of stunting.

My previous projects investigate the effects of a deposit insurance scheme on moral hazard behaviors among banks, the effects of religious message on choice of Islamic financing (NYUAD research grant), the relationship between school resources and labor market earnings, the impact of the Dell Scholarship Program on various college outcomes (blog post,InsideHigherEd,TheConversation), household’s preferences regarding the fuel subsidy elimination in Indonesia(link 1, link 2, link 3, link 4), tobacco control economics (report, technical brief), and tobacco farmers (wave 1 report).
