Big Data Analysis introduces students to the latest technologies and algorithms which are used to process and analyze large data. This course discusses about how such data are usually produced, the concept and the characteristics of big data, the need of computer clusters to process the data, ecosystems and processing models/pipelines of big data, as well as large scale machine learning and data visualization. A number of use cases are examined in the course. This includes the uses of available technologies and the implementation of processing modules and algorithms. Assignments are given to students to assess their understanding about the course's materials.

The course is designed to introduce students to the latest trend of big data technologies, its processing models/pipelines, algorithms, infrastructures, and applications. At the end of this course, the students are expected to have a good general understanding about the field and to be able to implement recent technologies and algorithms of big data analysis.
