I.4 Drug Excretion
Why do you need to take this Practical Course?
Most drugs are given orally and they must pass the gut wall to enter the bloodstream. This absorption process is affected by many factors such as: Formulation - Stability to acid and enzyme - Motility of gut - Food in the stomach - Degree of first-pass metabolism - Lipid solubility (depends a lot on the pK of drug) and pH environment.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this session, students are expected to:
[1]. Understand the different routes of drug excretion from the body.[2]. Understand the pharmacokinetics principles which make them able to apply biomedical science to manage health problems holistically and comprehensively

This practical course has the linearity to the SKDI (Indonesian Medical Doctor Competencies)
Scheme of Activities
Rules And Regulation Online Practical Course (Dept. Pharmacology and Therapy), Faculty of Medicine
[1]. Before the online meeting, the student has to contact their instructor.
[2]. The individual assignment has to be submitted to their instructor's email before the online meeting (1 email for all members in the same group).
[3]. The student must join the online meeting on time. The dynamics/liveliness of your activity during the practical course (Live session) are valuable and will be recorded as the score of your activity.
[4]. The student must dress properly during the meeting and turn on the camera.
[5]. The grade of the assignment is determined by the tidiness, systematization, and content of the report.
[6]. The minimal score for the lab work test, if any, is 6. If the lab work test does not reach this minimally score the respective student has to get a remedial test.
[7]. Students who are not joining the online lab work, must apply for INHAL (a catch-up practical course) and arrange the schedule of INHAL to the pharmacology and therapy laboratory. Any cost needed to carry out the INHAL is disbursed by the student.
