Welcome to Digital Governance 2022!

This is the International Undergraduate Program of Public Policy and Management’s choice course in public policy. Digital democracy/digital governance has become an important issue for public administration since the arrival of personal computers and the internet in the 1980s and 1990s. The internet provides a new digital opportunity for realizing democracy in public administration. The internet also has launched more or less utopian visions of the future in the field of politics and public policy and at the same time, it led to an increased interest in the role of the internet in democratic governance. However, there are wide variations in adopting and implementing practices of digital democracy among government agencies. Therefore, this course will discuss topics on digital democracy, stages, the relation with public administration reforms, digital divide, the introduction of e-government and Digital Era Governance.

Apart from the theoretical discussion, students in this course will be able to learn how to develop a digital product concept using user interface design theories, patterns, and tools.
