Indonesian Cross-cultural Communication
The goal of this course is to inspire students to think critically about culture. In this course students should think about what culture is made of and how these components can be explored in our own cultures and others. Looking critically at culture will encourage students to look below the surface of what we see and experience everyday and begin to recognize the source of cross-cultural misunderstanding and miscommunication.
(1) Students will identify cultural phenomena in society, (2) Students will describe the relationships of inter-cultural constitutions, (3) Students will investigate, analyze and present conditions of cultural patterns, (4) Students will explain phases in two or more cultural values and the emergence of problems, (5) Students will propose alternative solutions to the existing problems.
