Basic pharmacology

General or basic Pharmacology consists of two fields of interest, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics.  Pharmacokinetics is a concept based on the fate of drugs in the body. Pharmacokinetics explains the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) of drugs and the concentration of drugs in the body compartments. The most important concept in pharmacodynamics is the dose-response relationship, which describes the dependence of the effect of a drug on its concentration at its receptor.
