This elective course facilitates students to apply the concept of sustainability in evaluating the various materials from the perspective of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) effects. By joining this course, students are expected to be able to estimate the amount of embodied energy/carbon of materials through their design and propose the appropriate sustainable materials to decarbonise the construction and operation of an architectural design. Students will also be equipped with additional content on advanced sustainable materials. Lastly, it is also expected that students are aware of the impacts of their selection on materials to the achievement of sustainability.
