Chemical Engineering Principles course is an obligatory course in the Dept. of Chemical Engineering, UGM. In the course, the students learn the basic of chemical engineering fundamentals including material balance, energy balance, equilibrium and rate processes. The course also introduces the basic understanding of dimension analysis and similarity in chemical engineering. Through the course the student is expected to understand the applications of chemical engineering fundamentals especially material and energy balances to solve simple chemical engineering problems as well as to develop and analyze correlation of dimensionless numbers and to do scaling-up of process design based on appropriate dimensionless number.
