Workshop of Design Thinking AR3

Today's dynamic business landscape is characterized by Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity (VUCA). It is imperative for students to hone problem-solving abilities and foster creativity to navigate the competitive realm of the workforce. This course aims to cultivate students' problem-solving skills, particularly emphasizing creative problem-solving through the lens of design thinking.

Design thinking, a human-centered approach to innovation, is a systematic process for understanding and solving complex problems. It involves empathizing with users to gain insights into their needs and experiences, defining the problem based on these insights, ideating potential solutions, prototyping and testing these solutions, and iterating based on feedback. This approach encourages students to think outside the box, or even no box, consider multiple perspectives, and iterate through solutions iteratively.

The workshop covers various aspects of design thinking, including problem identification through empathetic research, ideation techniques to generate innovative solutions, and prototyping methods to quickly test and refine ideas. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of collaboration and interdisciplinary thinking. Through experiential learning activities and real-world case studies, students develop a deep understanding of design thinking principles and gain practical experience applying them to solve complex problems in diverse contexts.
