Mata kuliah Sistem Penghantaran Obat secara umum membahas aspek-aspek dalam proses penghantaran senyawa aktif farmasetik untuk mencapai tempat aksinya dalam jumlah yang cukup di dalam tubuh. Aspek-aspek tersebut meliputi: (1) Pengaruh biofarmasetik terhadap keberhasilan penghantaran obat (membran dan struktur biologis, sifat fisikokimia, dan transfer massa), (2) Penghantaran obat konvensional oral dan intravena serta keterbatasannya, (3) Strategi penghantaran obat termodivikasi dalam pemecahan masalah penghantaran konvensional (partikel berbasis teknologi nano dan mikro, orally disintegrating tablet, salut enterik, prodrug, pelepasan terkontrol, penghantaran nasal dan pulmonari, transdermal), dan (4) Strategi penghantaran makromolekul dan biofarmasi (peptida/protein dan vaksin).

The course of Drug Delivery Systems generally discusses the aspects influencing the delivery process of active pharmaceutical compounds to reach their site of action in sufficient quantities in the body. These aspects include: (1) The influence of biopharmaceutics factors on the success of drug delivery (biological membranes and structures, physicochemical properties, and mass transfer), (2) Conventional oral and intravenous drug delivery and their limitations, (3) Modified drug delivery strategies in solving conventional delivery problems (particles based on nano- and microtechnology, orally disintegrating tablets, enteric coating, prodrugs, controlled release, nasal and pulmonary delivery, transdermal), and (4) Macromolecular and biopharmaceutical delivery strategies (peptides/proteins and vaccines).
