This course introduces students to the building system and construction of one-storey and low-rise buildings. This course contains materials related with:

• Construction Drawings and Documents: Understanding the requirement of producing decent as-built drawings and supported construction documents.
• Construction Phases and Method: Understanding the phases and methods of construction, particularly on the technical issue of assembling building structure elements.
• Building System: Understanding the building system (stairs, plumbing, and electrical) of low-rise buildings and its correlation with structural and architectural design.

The active learning environment will be applied through the hybrid-mode class of classical and semi-workshop. It also adopts a problem and research-based learning method, as the students should come to the class after doing a group discussion to propose solutions for provided cases that are related to the weekly topic. Further, it will be discussed with the facilitators in the class. Students are also required to join the drawing workshop that will challenge them to emphasise structural design and building systems in an architectural design.
