Course Description
Maternal and child morbidity, disability, and mortality continue to be a major public health problem in Indonesia, affecting millions of women, families, and communities annually. This course will help student understand: the current situation of maternal and child morbidity, disability, and mortality, some high impact interventions for improving maternal and child health status and key issues involved in policy, programming and strategy to improve health services and save lives. It is hoped that the issues, policy, program and strategy considerations address in this course will guide to students who are going to be educator, program and technical advisors working to reduce the number of maternal and child deaths in our country.

Course Structure
Course Format
Course activity covers lecture, tutorial and independent study by student (assignment). Due to pandemic, the lectures will be delivered through virtual class, using online meeting modality (Zoom, Google Meet, WebEx, etc.).

Mandate for turning in assignments
- Every assignment must be typed in Microsoft Word. Hand written assignments will not be accepted.
- Page layout margins must be ‘Normal’ i.e., 1’’ on all sides.
- The font style must be Times New Roman and the font size should be 11 pt.
- The spacing between lines in a paragraph must be 1.5.
- Each question number on the assignment must be in BOLD and there must be at least a double space between each question.
- Every page of the assignment must have the student’s full name and page number.
- Assignment must be saved with the student’s full name and the assignment number before turning it in on eLOK.

Part 2: Student Learning Outcomes
Learning Objectives
This course covers: –the magnitude of maternal and child morbidity, disability, and mortality, it’s progress, and obstacles to reaching the national and global health goals; –reorient the participant to key technical and programmatic concepts in the provision of health care that is essential to the improvement of maternal and child health status; and –appraising population and family health policies and programs as part of core of public health program in Indonesia.
Learning Outcomes
In the end of the course, the student should be able to: understand and evaluate the policies and programs correlated to decreasing of maternal mortality rate and child mortality rate especially infant mortality, improving the nutritional status especially issues of stunting and exclusive breastfeeding. Students also could be emphasize to evaluate the policies and programs of maternal and child health correlated to SDGs and National Mid-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).
