Big Data Analytics introduces students to the latest in technologies and algorithms used to process and analyze big data. This course discusses how data is usually produced, the concepts and characteristics of big data, the need for computer clusters to process data, ecosystems, and processing big data models / pipelines, as well as large-scale machine learning and data visualization. This course is designed to introduce students to the latest trends in big data technology, processing models / pipelines, algorithms, infrastructure, and applications. At the end, the student will be expected to have a good general understanding of the field and to be able to apply recent big data analysis technologies and algorithms
