Indonesian Cross-cultural Communication Class B

The goal of this course is to inspire students to think critically about culture who they are as cultural beings in multicultural environment. They will discuss the term "culture", and “cross-cultural”, and think about what those include within the idea of Indonesian cultural context as social phenomena. In this course students should think about what culture is made of and how these components can be explored in our own cultures and others. Looking critically at culture will encourage students to look below the surface of what we see and experience everyday and begin to recognize the source of cross-cultural misunderstanding and miscommunication. This course will be a combination of lectures, discussion, field observations (tentative), writing assignments, presentations and clips showing that will attempt to cover and analyze different components of Indonesian culture.
